As Africa continues to expand its higher education landscape, the pursuit of global recognition and excellence is increasingly central. This session aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the QS World University Rankings and explore how Sub-Saharan African institutions can strategically enhance their standings on this global platform. The session aims to empower African universities with the knowledge and strategies to enhance their global presence. The resource person will also shed light on data QS has for the African region, and invite consultations for a Sub-Saharan African Ranking, which will be piloted later this year. By focusing on targeted interventions and sharing global best practices, QS aims to support African institutions in their journey toward becoming recognised centres of academic excellence on the world stage. QS also introduced its Sustainability Rankings, which has seen two editions so far, and this revolutionary system looks beyond SDGs and goes into Environmental impact and Governance, too, with a focus on how the world connects with developing countries.
